The Monroe - Her Darker Days
Bela Flores Designs & Co created “Fosters” a line of jewelry inspired by people who have been in foster care in one way or another. Read below about Marilyn Monroe:
Gladys Pearl Monroe struggled with undiagnosed mental health issues as well as financial difficulties, she gave up her daughter to a foster home only two weeks after giving birth to Norma Jeane Baker (Who would later change her name to the well known Marilyn Monroe).
Monroe spent most of her child hood and adolescence in & out of foster homes / orphanages until the age of 16 when she married her neighbor James Dougherty to avoid going back to foster care but ended up divorcing 4 years later.
Monroe had 3 husbands in her lifetime as she went on to become a beloved Hollywood icon to this day
