According to the DCS website, as of March 2024 there are approxxemetly 10,000 children and youth in foster care
Many of which will lack the support and resources they need to successfully transition out of foster care.Those children & teens are also more likely to experience homelessness during their lives.
Who we are
Village De Amor is a non profit organization that was established in 2021 by mother daughter duo Monessa Duran and Evelyn Flores who have a goal to end homelessness after foster care. Village De Amor is predicated on the idea that children in foster care should not only be cared for in the moment but should be given the opportunity to learn some of the skills that will help them successfully transition into their early adult lives following care.

We recognize the challenges that youth face in foster care as well as after care and realized that more needs to be done.
Our team's experience in the foster care system has shown us that with compassion and resources of a village youth can achieve more than what they thought was capable. We believe that everyone regardless of their upbringing is deserving of unconditional support, guidance, love, compassion, happiness, healing, and success.

VDA's Angels founder, Evelyn Flores formed Bela Flores Designs as a creative outlet that hand-crafts jewelry and accessories that are available for purchase in our store. They contribute 100% of proceeds towards benefiting Village De Amor's mission.
